Canada Olympic Park is located just 15 minutes from downtown Calgary and situated at the gateway to the Rocky Mountains.

As the premiere site of the XV Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, COP is perhaps the most visible legacy of the 1988 Games to visitors and Calgary alike - truly a one-of-a-kind attraction.

Calgary's premiere recreational and sport learning centre is unique from most Olympic venues in that it continues to function as a multi-purpose competition, training and recreation area designed for year-round use by both athletes and the general public.

In the winter, Canada Olympic Park is home to more than 290,000 ski and snowboard visits, and features lessons and programs for people of all ages and abilities. COP also offers introductory programs for the public to experience the sports of bobsleigh, skeleton and luge.

Included in the COP ski and snowboarding experience is a FIS-sanctioned Superpipe, which was added to the Park in 2003. Recognized by the snowboarding community as the next level in pipe riding progression and the only one of its kind in North America within city limits, the Superpipe has walls reaching 15 feet in height. Accompanied by a world-class terrain park, the Superpipe answers all the needs of competitive, advanced and recreational riders. The facility also provides Canada's aspiring Olympians another place to prepare to compete with the world's best at international and Olympic competitions.

Canada Olympic Park has all the amenities that one needs for winter sports from the largest rental and retail shop in Alberta, to professionally certified instructors. Features like free parking, night skiing, adult race leagues, and the large cross country facilities keep this area busy with enthusiastic atheletes all winter long.

Now skating is available at COP with the opening of three new North American size ice rinks on December 15, 2010. The new ice rinks are part of an athletic and ice complex that will house four ice rinks, a five story office tower and a high performance training centre and public fitness centre. The fourth rink will become a 3,000 seat arena and is set to open in September 2011 with the office tower while the training and fitness centres are set to open in 2012.

Canada Olympic Park is a WinSport Canada facility, which aims to provide world-class winter sport facilities where athletes can discover develop and excel.
